Akhilesh Yadav’s Statement in Parliament: “Even if We Win All 80 UP Seats, We Still Don’t Trust EVMs”

Akhilesh Yadav’s speech in Lok Sabha: Discussion on the motion of thanks on President Draupadi Murmu’s address is going on in Parliament. In this series, SP President Akhilesh Yadav, while speaking in the discussion on the motion of thanks in the Lok Sabha, raised the issue of EVMs. He said that even if he wins 80 out of 80 seats in UP, he still does not trust EVMs.

SP MP from Kannauj in Lok Sabha, Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday alleged that when the Model Code of Conduct came into force, we saw that the Election Commission was kind to some people. If that institution is impartial then India’s democracy will be strong. He further said, ‘Even today I do not trust EVMs. It won’t happen even if I win 80 out of 80 seats. We had also said in the elections that after winning through EVMs, we will remove EVMs.

In the lower house of the Parliament, the SP President accused Uttar Pradesh of discrimination. Akhilesh said that the UP which formed the BJP government was discriminated against. He said that whatever expressways have been built, they have been built from the budget of UP. The Center has not given even a single expressway.’ He further said that the picture of the village which was adopted by the PM has not changed…in 10 years, there are the same unpaved footpaths, the same broken roads.
