BMW (BMW), the leading luxury car maker, has launched the new 2023 BMW X7 facelift SUV in the Indian market. Powerful luxury SUV 2023 BMW X7 facelift was introduced in two variants – xDrive40i M Sport and xDrive40d M Sport. The updated BMW X7 is locally built at the automaker’s Chennai plant in India.
Price and Delivery Details
Its initial ex-showroom price in India has been kept at Rs 1.22 crore, which goes up to Rs 1.24 crore. Bookings for the SUV have started from January 17 across BMW dealerships and deliveries of the car will begin by the end of the first quarter of 2023.
Look and Design
The X7’s design has been updated significantly, and is now inspired by the i7 and the new-gen 7 Series. The SUV is available in 5 exterior color options. Which includes colors like Mineral White, Black Sapphire and Carbon Black. In addition, the SUV is also available in two exclusive BMW individual paintworks – Dravit Gray and Tanzanite Blue. Inside the cabin, the SUV sports exclusive BMW Individual Leather Merino upholstery available in three shades – Tartufo, Ivory White and Black.
The new BMW X7 features an impressive front kidney grille painted in black, which is further enhanced by the newly designed sleek LED headlamps. It also gets chrome garnished air vents and 3D taillights with new inner graphics among other design elements.
Its features
Talking about the cabin of the car, the new 2023 BMW X7 SUV comes with the freestanding BMW Curved Display. It gets a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system that runs on the iDrive 8 operating system. Other features include panoramic sunroof, 4-zone automatic climate control, ambient lighting, adaptive air suspension, Sky Lounge panoramic glass sunroof, head-up display and ADAS.
Engine Power & Transmission
The 2023 BMW X7 is available with two engine options equipped with mild-hybrid technology. The BMW X7 xDrive40i M Sport variant gets a 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder petrol engine. This engine generates 375 bhp power at 5,200-6,250 rpm and 520 Nm peak torque at 1,850-5,000 rpm. While the BMW X7 xDrive40d M Sport variant gets a 3.0-litre diesel engine. This engine generates 335 bhp power at 4,400 rpm and 700 Nm torque at 1,750-2,250 rpm.
The 48V electric motor generates an additional 12hp of power and 200Nm of torque. Both the engines are mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and BMW’s xDrive all-wheel drive system.
The BMW X7 xDrive40i M Sport can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 5.8 seconds. While the BMW X7 xDrive40d M Sport accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in 5.9 seconds. The SUV gets four different drive modes – Comfort, Efficient, Sport and Sport Plus.
The BMW X7 facelift will compete with the Mercedes-Benz GLS. Apart from the X7, BMW also launched the M 340i and the XM in the Indian market a few days ago.
The BMW X7 facelift goes up against other three-row luxury SUVs in India such as the Mercedes Benz GLS (Rs 1.19 crore-1.21 crore), Audi Q7 (Rs 84.70 lakh-90.63 lakh), Volvo XC90 (Rs 96.50 lakh) and the Land Rover Discovery (Rs 93.9 lakh-1.32 crore).
