In a disturbing incident in Ramban, Jammu and Kashmir, a government official, identified as Yawar Amin, employed in the public works department and currently serving as an assistant engineer in Samagra Shiksha Ramban, has been booked for rape. The accused is presently evading arrest, prompting intensified efforts by the authorities to apprehend him.
The case unfolded when an 18-year-old woman, employed as a domestic help, filed a complaint at the Banihal police station. According to her account, Amin allegedly raped her during a vulnerable moment when she was alone at his residence, coinciding with his wife’s absence in Jammu. The complainant asserted that Amin provided her with medication after she fell ill in the evening, only to later assault her.
Authorities have initiated legal proceedings, registering a case against the accused under relevant sections of the law, including rape. As part of the ongoing investigation, a medical examination of the woman has been conducted to gather crucial evidence.
