American Airlines: Another incident of urinating on passenger on New York-Delhi flight, accused detained

New Delhi: An Indian man traveling from New York to Delhi on an American Airlines flight has been arrested at the airport here for allegedly urinating on his fellow passenger. Sources said that according to the airline staff, the accused Indian passenger was drunk and had a urinated on his fellow passenger during an argument.

New Delhi: An Indian man traveling from New York to Delhi on an American Airlines flight has been arrested at the airport here for allegedly urinating on his fellow passenger. Sources said that according to the airline staff, the accused Indian passenger was drunk and had a urinated on his fellow passenger during an argument. The incident took place in American Airlines flight number AA 292 and the accused passenger was apprehended by the Central Industrial Security Force after the plane landed at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport at around 9 pm on Sunday.

The aggrieved passenger has lodged a formal complaint with the airline, sources said. Sources said the airline reported the incident to the Delhi airport before the flight landed at the airport and both the passengers involved in the incident were later handed over to the Delhi Police. Legal action has been taken under the offences.

The police initiated the action following a complaint by the airline staff about the passengers misbehaviour. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Airport) Devesh Kumar Mahala said, ‘There is no evidence or complaint by fellow passengers regarding anyone urinating. has been given.’ In recent days there have been incidents of passengers urinating on fellow passengers after allegedly consuming alcohol.

According to a senior official, the airline will investigate the matter further as per internal procedures. A Directorate General of Civil Aviation official said the airline has recorded statements of co-passengers and handed over the passenger to law enforcement and an FIR has been registered.
