Amidst high tension over Udaipur tailor’s brutal murder NIA took over investigation, case registered

New Delhi: In the breaking development in Udaipur tailor’s gruesome and brutal murder case, On Wednesday NIA has taken over the investigation of Kanhaiya Lal’s murder case. The National Investigation Agency has registered a case in this regard today. Earlier, the Center had directed the NIA to take over the investigation of the case, considering the incident of murder of a tailor in Udaipur as a terrorist act.

Home Ministry official wrote on his Twitter account, “The Ministry of Home Affairs has directed the NIA to investigate the brutal murder of Kanhaiya Lal Teli in Udaipur, Rajasthan.” The involvement will be thoroughly probed.

The Ministry of Home Affairs had sent an investigation team to Udaipur on Tuesday night itself after it came to light that the two accused arrested by the Rajasthan Police in the initial investigation of the case were influenced by the terrorist organization ISIS. Today NIA team reached Kanhaiya Lal’s shop in connection with the investigation.

Tension prevailed in Udaipur city on Tuesday when Riyaz Akhtari slit the throat of Kanhaiya Lal Teli with a sharp weapon and another person, Ghaus Mohammad, made a video of the incident from a mobile phone.

In view of the tension, curfew has been imposed in seven police station areas of Udaipur, while mobile internet services have been suspended in all 33 districts of Rajasthan.
