Amit Shah calls a high-level meeting to review J-K security, Amarnath Yatra preparations

Home Minister Amit Shah's Meeting: There have been four terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir in the last few days in Reasi, Kathua and Doda districts. After which the country's Home Minister Amit Shah is going to hold a high level meeting at 11 am on Sunday to end terrorism. In this meeting, the Home Minister will take stock of the security situation with security officials and Union Territory Governor Manoj Sinha.

New Delhi: In Jammu and Kashmir, four terrorist attacks have taken place in the last few days in Reasi, Kathua and Doda districts. After which the country’s Home Minister Amit Shah is going to hold a high level meeting at 11 am on Sunday to end terrorism. In this meeting, the Home Minister will take stock of the security situation with security officials and Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory, Manoj Sinha.

According to media reports, Home Minister Amit Shah will also review the preparations for the annual Amarnath Pilgrimage starting from June 29 during the meeting regarding the security of Jammu and Kashmir. In this meeting, the Home Minister is likely to be given information about the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir, deployment of security forces on the International Border and the Line of Control, infiltration attempts, the situation of anti-terrorist operations and terrorists operating in the Union Territory.

It is being told that in this security review meeting, NSA Ajit Doval, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Army Chief General Manoj Pandey, Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi, Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla, Intelligence Bureau Director Tapan Deka, CRPF Director General Anish Dayal Singh, Jammu and Kashmir DGP R. R. Swain and other top security officials are likely to attend.

It is noteworthy that the annual pilgrimage to the Amarnath cave temple in South Kashmir Himalayas is going to start from June 29, which is going to continue till August 19. In this journey, devotees travel through two routes in Jammu and Kashmir – Baltal and Pahalgam. This year the number of pilgrims for Amarnath Yatra is estimated to reach five lakh. Last year, more than 4.28 lakh people had visited the cave temple.
