Amritsar: Man ties his pregnant wife to bed, sets her on fire

Punjab: On Saturday, an official said that a man allegedly killed his pregnant wife after tying her to a bed and setting her on fire in Amritsar, Punjab. After receiving information about this incident local police reached on the spot.

The incident took place in Buled Nangal village in Rayya area of Amritsar, Punjab on Friday. Police said the couple used to have frequent quarrels. The both of them were identified as Sukhdev and Pinky.

Police said that a heated argument was happened between the couple following which Sukhdev tied Pinky, who was six-month pregnant, to the bed and set her on fire.

About this incident, Inspector Gurvinder Singh said after receiving information about this incident we were reached on the spot where Pinky, who was pregnant with twins, died on the spot. Sukhdev is absconding.

The inspector added that after the incident, a case has been registered, and a search is on for the accused and further investigation is underway.
