Amritsar: Pakistani drone shot down by BSF personnel, 3.2 kg heroin recovered

The police teams kept searching till late night for the accused and his two other accomplices, who had ordered the said heroin consignment, but they could not be caught. The police presented the accused in the court on Sunday.

Amritsar: A Pakistani drone violating Indian airspace was intercepted and shot down by BSF personnel at Attari in Amritsar. 3.2 kg of heroin was being recovered through the drone.

It may be mentioned that under the ongoing anti-drug campaign, the Fazilka police has once again foiled the plans of Pakistani drug peddlers and recovered a consignment of 9.387 kg of heroin. In the said case, the police have succeeded in arresting both the accused who were carrying the consignment of heroin.

Although the police teams were searching till late night for the accused and his two other accomplices, who had ordered the said heroin consignment, but they could not be caught. The police produced the accused in the court on Sunday, where the court sent both the accused on police remand for six days.

SSP Avneet Kaur Sidhu told that she had received information that there has been some movement on the border. Police parties were alert about this. During this, when Sadar police station Jalalabad had blockaded a place, two youths riding a motorcycle tried to run away after seeing the police.

However, the police team overpowered both. After this, DSP Atul Soni, DSP D Sukhwinder Singh and in-charge of Sadar Police Station Jalalabad Gurvindra Kumar reached the spot and searched the bag present with the said accused.

9.387 kg of heroin, three drone binding bags, a blinking ball and two rubber toys were recovered from the bag. During this, both the arrested youths, Hoshiyar Singh resident Dhani Prabhat Singh Wala and Gurpreet Singh resident Dhandi Kadim, were strictly interrogated, they told that the said consignment was ordered by Amandeep Singh resident Dhani Dhandi Kadim.

He has contacts with smugglers sitting in Pakistan. While nine Bahiram Shair Singh Wala resident of Baggu Singh and Prabhat Singh Wala resident of Binder Singh village are also involved in this work. SSP Sidhu told that raids have been conducted to arrest the above three accused, but they are still absconding. He told that it was Amandeep Singh who had ordered the consignment, while the police is probing when and where the consignment was to be delivered.
