Anantnag encounter: Charred body of terrorist recovered, operation enters day 6

New Delhi: On Monday, Security forces recovered the charred body of a terrorist from Anantnag in Jammu and Kashmir, sources said, as the encounter and search operation entered the sixth day. Based on the pattern of clothes on the body, security forces believe that the burnt body is that of a terrorist.

New Delhi: On Monday, Security forces recovered the charred body of a terrorist from Anantnag in Jammu and Kashmir, sources said, as the encounter and search operation entered the sixth day. Based on the pattern of clothes on the body, security forces believe that the burnt body is that of a terrorist.

On Monday morning, Search operations resumed in the area and efforts are being made to locate the bodies of a soldier and another terrorist, who were seen at another location through a drone.

However, there has been no fresh firing so far on Monday. On Sunday, the fifth day of the encounter, news of fierce firing between security forces and terrorists has been received from the area.

The Anantnag operation, which claimed the lives of three security officials, has seen the use of high-tech equipment for surveillance and shelling.

According to security forces, the precise fire method used by the forces has had a high impact on the operation. Commanding officer of 19 Rashtriya Rifles, Colonel Manpreet Singh, Major Ashish Dhonchak, Deputy Superintendent of Jammu and Kashmir Police, and Humayun Bhatt, a soldier, were killed by terrorists in the area on Wednesday.
