Officials have said that at present the entire area has been surrounded. So far, five army soldiers have been injured in this encounter.

On Friday, Encounter continues between security personnel and terrorists in Anantnag, sources said. Jammu and Kashmir Police has said that a local terrorist named Uzair Khan is involved in the encounter. Apart from this, the involvement of a foreign terrorist has also been confirmed in the encounter.

Sources said that the security forces have succeeded in killing one terrorist, while the search for the second terrorist is going on. However, no official statement has come yet on this.

Officials said that the encounter between security forces and terrorists started in Kokernag area of ​​Anantnag on Wednesday. In this encounter, Commanding Officer of 19 Rashtriya Rifle Unit of the Army, Colonel Manpreet Singh, Company Commander Major Ashish Dhaunchak and DSP of Jammu and Kashmir Police Humayun Muzammil Bhat were martyred.

Now, after the recovery of the body of one more martyred soldier, the number of soldiers martyred in this encounter has increased to four. The identity of the fourth soldier who lost his life today has not been revealed yet.

Actually, on Wednesday, based on intelligence information, the army was searching for terrorists at a hideout. During this, the terrorists sitting in hiding opened fire on the army soldiers.

The terrorists’ bullet hit Colonel Manpreet Singh, due to which he was martyred on the spot. Two officers were also injured in the firing by terrorists, who attained martyrdom during treatment in a hospital in Srinagar. According to the information, the terrorists who attacked are part of Lashkar-e-Taiba’s organization ‘The Resistance Front’.
