Andhra Pradesh: 5 Killed, 2 injured after speeding lorry collides with auto-rickshaw in Bapatla district

In a tragic incident that came to fore from Bapatla district of Andhra Pradesh, 5 people have killed and 2 suffers major injuries in a massive collision between an auto rickshaw and a lorry. Giving information about the incident, the police said that this accident happened on Guntur-Kurnool highway.

Bapatla/Andhra Pradesh: In a tragic incident that came to fore from Bapatla district of Andhra Pradesh, 5 people have killed and 2 suffers major injuries in a massive collision between an auto rickshaw and a lorry. Giving information about the incident, the police said that this accident happened on Guntur-Kurnool highway.

According to report, quoting sources, at the time when incident happened there were about seven people in the auto rickshaw, who were returning from a wedding ceremony. Meanwhile, when the auto rickshaw reached the Guntur-Kurnool highway in Bapatla, it collided with a lorry near Santhamaguluru village. The clash between the two was so massive that five people died on the spot. This accident happened around 4:30 in the morning.

As per the details, a group of persons identified as Dance Party group from Narasaraopet was going from Vinukonda to Narasaraopet. However, as soon as they reached Santhamaguluru, an auto rammed into a lorry, killing three people on the spot and others during treatment. At present, three people are undergoing treatment despite being injured.

At the same time, the police reached the spot as soon as the information about the incident was received, sent the dead bodies for postmortem and admitted two injured people to Narasaraopeta Hospital for treatment.

Andhra Pradesh police have issued a look out notice for lorry driver, who is absconding since accident happened. The auto rickshaw was returning from a marriage function in Markapur carrying seven people. A case has been registered against the lorry driver under IPC section 304, police said.
