Andhra Pradesh: Accused dressed as seer attacks TDP leader with a sickle in Kakinada District

Officials said the suspect fled on a motorcycle and is being sought.

Hyderabad: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader Polnati Seshagiri Rao was seriously injured after a youth attacked him with a sickle in Tuli, Andhra Pradesh. The attacker had come to Rao’s house in the guise of a monk on Thursday morning on the pretext of begging.

It can be seen in the CCTV footage that the TDP leader is seen giving food grains to the attacker at the entrance of his house. Only then the attacker who arrived in the disguise of a monk takes out a sharp weapon and attacks Rao.

After injuring the leader, the accused is seen running away. Just then a woman comes out of the house and runs after her making noise.

Officials said the suspect fled on a motorcycle and is being sought.

Along with this, he told that Rao has suffered injuries on his head and neck in the attack. He has been admitted to the hospital for treatment.
