Tirupati: A major accident occurred due to a blast in a firecracker godown in Kovakolli village of Tirupati district of Andhra Pradesh. Three people died tragically in this explosion, while the other two people were seriously injured.
According to the police, five people were working in the godown when the incident took place. The incident is being told of Thursday. Police said three employees died on the spot after the explosion while two others were taken to the hospital.
The deceased have been identified as Edu Kondalu, 40, Shankaraiah, 32, and Nagendra, 25, according to sources. He used to work in the warehouse.
After the accident, both the injured were shifted to a hospital in Srikalahasti, from where they were referred to the SVR Government General Hospital in Tirupati. Fire engines reached the spot as soon as the incident was reported, doused the fire in three hours.
