Hyderabad: Every month student suicide case surfaces in our country. Now again a case of alleged suicide of an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) student has come to light in Telangana. A 23-year-old IIT student from Odisha, who was allegedly suffering from depression, committed suicide on the college campus in Telangana’s Sangareddy district, police said on Tuesday. According to the police, the girl student was found hanging in her hostel room on the IIT campus on Monday late evening.
Police said that they have found a letter left by the student, in which depression has been cited as the possible reason behind her death. After the incident, the police said that they have registered a case under 174 CrPC on the basis of the complaint lodged by the officials of the institute. Police said that the body has been sent for postmortem and the family of the deceased has been informed about the incident.
Sangareddy Rural sub-inspector Rajesh Nayak said, “Mamita Nayak, a 23-year-old girl, was found hanging in her hostel room on the IIT campus on Monday night. She has left a letter citing depression as the cause of her death. She is from Odisha.” Native.”
Police said that they received information about the incident at 9 pm on Tuesday night. The officer said, “Further investigation is going on in the case. Investigation is being done in this case from many angles.”
