The film The Kashmir Files has again come into controversy. IFFI jury head has taken a jibe at the movie. Nadav Lapid has described the film as 'vulgar propaganda'. Anupam Kher has targeted the IFFI jury head. He tweeted and wrote – No matter how high the height of the lie is. It is always small in comparison to the truth.
New Delhi: ‘The Kashmir Files’, one of the highest-grossing films of the year 2022, has again come into the limelight. The reason is the statement of International Film Festival of India (IFFI) jury head Nadav Lapid, which he gave at the 53rd Film Festival ceremony held in Goa.
Israeli filmmaker Nadav Lapid has described ‘The Kashmir Files’ as ‘vulgar propaganda’. Film star Anupam Kher targeted jury chief Lapid for this statement. At the same time, filmmaker Ashok Pandit called it an insult to Kashmiris. He also targeted the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting for making Nadav Lapid the jury head of IFFI.
What did the IFFI Jury Head say?
At the IFFI event being held in Panjim, Goa, Israeli filmmaker criticized the film ‘The Kashmir Files’ and said – We are all upset. This movie seemed like a ‘propaganda, porn film’ to us. The Kashmir Files is not appropriate for such a big prestigious film festival. I am completely comfortable sharing my feelings openly on the platform. This is an important discussion, which should happen without hesitation. It is necessary for art and life.
“All of us were disturbed and shocked by the film #KashmirFiles, which felt to us as a propaganda vulgar movie, inappropriate for the artistic competitive section of such a prestigious film festival.” – IFFI Jury Head Nadav Lapid.

Ashok Pandit wrote in another tweet, “Israeli filmmaker Nadav Lapid has made fun of India’s war against terrorism by calling The Kashmir Files a vulgar film.” He has insulted 7 lakh Kashmiri Pandits in the BJP government. This raises a big question on the credibility of the IFFI event. Shameful.” Taking a jibe at the Israeli filmmaker, Ashok Pandit said, “The massacre of 3 lakh Kashmiri Hindus cannot be vulgar. ,
#Israeli filmmaker #NadavLapid has made a mockery of India’s fight against terrorism by calling #KashmirFiles a vulgar film .
He has insulted 7 lac #KashmiriPandits under the nose of the #BJP govt .
Its a big blow to #IFFIGoa2022 ‘s credibility.

#NadavLapid’s selection as the jury head of #IFFI53Goa is a major lapse on behalf of I&B ministry.
Hence heads of those in the ministry, who are responsible for this crime, should roll. What does one expect from a Palestine sympathiser?!#KashmirFiles

The Kashmir Files’ was screened at IFFI on November 22 as a part of the Indian Panorama Section. The movie is based on the exodus of the Kashmiri Pandits from the Valley in the 1990s.
