New Delhi: Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC 2023) started on June 5 at 10:30 pm Indian time. Apple has launched a virtual reality headset called Vision Pro. It is the company’s long-awaited VR/AR headset with two 4K displays. What sets it apart from other VR headsets is the fact that Apple Vision Pro does not rely on a controller. Apple’s first MR headset instead makes use of the wearer’s eyes, voice and hands to navigate the interface. The device’s price will start at $3,499 and launch in early 2024, starting in the US market with more countries to follow.
Apple Vision Pro connects the virtual and real world. This headset presents a screen in front of the user. In this, the user gets a great experience from entertainment to gaming. Apple has claimed that it can be controlled with eyes, hands and voice.
The Cupertino-based tech giant had been expected to enter the VR/AR space for years, with initial reports going back to 2018. Apple has already had AR tools for iPhones and iPads going back to 2017. Apple’s entry into the space now makes it compete with social networking giant Meta and its lineup of VR headsets.
“In the same way that Mac introduced us to personal computing, and iPhone introduced us to mobile computing, Apple Vision Pro will introduce us to spatial computing,” Apple CEO Tim Cook, said in a statement while introducing the headset during the 2023 edition of WWDC developer conference.
“This marks the beginning of a journey that will bring a new dimension to powerful personal technology.”
Apple Vision Pro MR headset also supports voice commands from Siri and also comes with support for Bluetooth accessories that would let you access content from Mac when wearing the headset.

Arrange apps anywhere and scale them to the perfect size, making the workspace of your dreams a reality — all while staying present in the world around you. Browse the web in Safari, create a to-do list in Notes, chat in Messages, and seamlessly move between them with a glance,” Apple said.
Apple Vision Pro headset also supports apps in the real world that may seem like having access to a personal theatre.
