Arjun Bijlani Loses Rs 40k In Cyber Fraud Case: ‘This Incident Was An Eye Opener’

Mumbai: The cases of cyber fraud are increasing day by day. Celebrities are also not untouched by this. Recently, Alia Bhatt’s mother Soni Razdan had told that she too was about to fall into the trap of cyber fraud, but she narrowly escaped. A few days ago, TV actor Arjun Bijlani also became a victim of cyber fraud. Thousands of rupees were lost from his account. Now he has talked about this.

Arjun Bijlani has told how he became a victim of cyber fraud. He checked the message at the right time, otherwise he would have lost lakhs. Cyber fraud happened to him when he was working out in the gym. He had not even received any OTP.

Talking to a news channel, Arjun Bijlani said, “My credit card was only with me and I was working out in the gym. During the short break I checked my phone and every minute there were multiple messages coming in of my credit card being swiped and transactions going on continuously. My wife also has a supplementary card, so I asked her and she had that card too. So it was clear that the details were leaked and we have no idea how this happened.”

Arjun Bijlani further told that as soon as he suspected cyber fraud, he got the credit card blocked due to which he saved himself from losing lakhs. The actor said, “This incident was an eye-opener. What if I was sleeping at that time? Many people do not check all the messages from banks, but I realized how important it is to read those messages.”

Arjun further said, “Luckily I saw it and by that time only seven to eight transactions had taken place. Each transaction was worth Rs 5,000 to Rs 5,000, in total Rs 40,000 was lost through the card. My credit card limit is Rs 10 to 12 lakh. Had I not checked my phone, the damage could have been greater.”

The ‘Naagin’ actor expressed concern over the shortcomings of digital transactions. The actor said that the money was drained from his credit card, without any OTT sharing. The actor said, “The process is that when there is any credit card transaction it gets OTT before that, but I don’t know that. I am still thinking that I did not share any OTT, then how was the transaction happening so successfully.”
