Asaduddin Owaisi, MP and party chief of the AIMIM, blamed the Union Home Ministry and the AAP government in Delhi for the recent reversal on the issue of relocating Rohingyas.
New Delhi: Asaduddin Owaisi, MP and party chief of the All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), blamed the Union Home Ministry and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Delhi for the recent reversal on the issue of relocating Rohingyas. He claimed that “MHA’s fingerprints are all over this issue” but that AAP is also “washing its hands in this ‘behti ganga’.”
In a series of tweets, Owaisi questioned the alleged high-level meeting where the matter was discussed between senior officials from Delhi’s government and police. “Who is responsible for the Delhi chief secretary? Who responds to the Delhi police? Owaisi questioned.
According to reports, the EWS flats where Delhi’s Rohingya are being relocated will be given to FRRO. To whom does FRRO answer? MHA or MoHUA? “It’s strange that MHA’s fingerprints are all over this issue, but MHA says it did not know anything about shifting Rohingyas to EWS flats,” tweeted the AIMIM chief.
A refugee spat erupted between the AAP and the BJP as the Centre denied providing flats to illegal Rohingyas in Delhi.
The issue of the Rohingyas’ illegal entry into the national capital has led to a war between the union and the Delhi government.
It began with a tweet shared by Union Urban Development and Housing minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Wednesday when he posted that Rohingya immigrants would be shifted to EWS flats. India has always given a place to live to those who have sought refuge in the country. All Rohingya refugees will be given the chance to shift to EWS flats in the Bakkarwala area of Delhi. They will be provided basic amenities, UNHCR IDs, and round-the-clock Delhi Police protection. “
