‘The windows were broken’
Regarding the incident, Asaduddin Owaisi told news agency ANI, “I reached my residence at 11:30 pm. On returning, I saw that the window panes were broken and stones were lying all around. The person working at my house informed that a group of miscreants pelted stones at the residence at around 5:30 pm.
‘This is the fourth attack’
AIMIM Chief Owaisi also said that this is the fourth such attack on his residence. He said, “This is the fourth time such an attack has happened… The area around my house has enough CCTV cameras and they can be accessed. The culprits should be caught immediately.”
He further said, “Immediate action should be taken and the culprits should be arrested at the earliest.” The Parliament Street Police is probing the matter. Owaisi was on a two-day visit to Rajasthan, where he launched the party’s campaign for the assembly elections to be held later this year.
Delhi Police said that an investigation is being done about when this stone pelting took place. However, Owaisi was not at his home at that time. Police is scanning the footage of CCTV cameras installed nearby and trying to find out who and when did this attack. Police sources also say that so far no suspect has been shown in any CCTV. This angle is also being probed whether some monkey has thrown a stone, because there are many monkeys in that area.
