Assam: 4.0 magnitude of Earthquake hits Nagaon

Assam: Mild tremors of earthquake were felt in Nagaon district of Assam on Sunday. According to the National Center for Seismology, where the intensity of the earthquake on the Richter scale has been measured at 4.0. At present, there is no information about any loss of life or property due to the earthquake.

According to the National Center for Seismology, the earthquake occurred at around 4:18 in the evening. Civic agencies and rescue teams are on alert after the earthquake in Nagaon. The district administration is ascertaining the impact of the earthquake. On the other hand, people got scared due to the earthquake. People came out of their houses and sang.

A day before this, an earthquake of magnitude 3.8 was recorded in Surat district of Gujarat. An official of the Institute of Seismological Research (ISR) said that the epicenter of the earthquake was recorded at 12:52 pm, at a distance of about 27kilometers South West (SW) of Surat.

The earthquake was recorded at a depth of 5.2 km, and the epicenter was in the Arabian Sea off Hazira in the district, said a district disaster management official. There was no damage to property or life due to the tremors.
