New Delhi: BJP national president JP Nadda on Tuesday rolled out the party manifesto for Assam assembly election 2021. During the release of BJP’s “Sankalp Patra”, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal and Minister of State Himanta Biswa Sarma were also present.
Unveiling the “Sankalpa Patra” in Guwahati, BJP national president, JP Nadda said, “We are committed to bringing a corrected NRC to secure and protect Assam…We will protect genuine Indian citizens and detect illegal infiltrators so that Assam can remain Assam’s.”
The BJP has mentioned 10 special points in its manifesto for the northern-east state. The party called named it ’10 resolutions for Assam’.
The first resolution in the manifesto issued for Assam, promises to start the Mission Brahmaputra so that the life and property could be protected due to the annual floods. It also claimed to step up reservoirs to store more water of Brahmaputra and its tributaries. Along with this, the waste will be cleaned with special machines within the river from Dhubri to Sadia.
In its second resolution, BJP offered to further empower the women of Assam if voted to power. The party in its manifesto said that 30 lakh families will cover under the Arunodaya Scheme. Under this scheme, the monthly amount currently received will increase from Rs 830 rupees to Rs 3,000.
BJP’s third resolution talked about patronising Namghars and Satars. The party stated in the manifesto that a task force will form to reclaim the places of worship of tribals and tribal communities which will free these places from illegal encroachments.
The NRC will be rectified as the fifth resolution by the BJP in its manifesto so that Govt will provide security to Indian citizens. The BJP has said in its sixth resolution that we will limit ourselves to protect the political rights of the people of Assam.
The seventh resolution alleged that Assam ‘Aahar Atmanirbhar scheme’ will also be started, we people vote BJP to power.
Assam is scheduled to undergo polls in three phases; March 27, April 1 and April 6. Results will be declared on May 2.
