The CID of Assam Police and Dibrugarh Police have arrested 22 students including teachers from Dibrugarh in connection with the HSLC question paper leak case.
Guwahati: The CID of Assam Police and Dibrugarh Police have arrested 22 students including teachers from Dibrugarh in connection with the HSLC question paper leak case. Sources said that all the students belong to private schools in Dibrugarh. The police picked up the students from their residence in the middle of the night. A source said, the director of a private school was also questioned.
Assam DGP GP Singh tweeted, “Reference paper leakage case of General Science (C3) of HSLC examination being conducted by Board of Secondary Education, Assam — 22 persons have been detained at/from Guwahati, North Lakhimpur, Dhemaji, Sadiya, Dibrugarh and Tinsukia.”
Singh further tweeted, “We are determined to unearth the network of conspirators and people involved in the question paper leak.”
Speaking to reporters, Dibrugarh SP Shwetank Mishra said, ‘We have picked up some students from Salt Brook School in the HSLC question paper leak case. We have got evidence from the students and they have given us many clues in the case. We are probing the matter.

State Education Minister Ranoj Pegu, however, said some people have been arrested. He did not share details of the arrests, citing the ongoing probe. “A probe is going on, so l can’t share much details about the case,” the state education minister told reporters outside the Assam Assembly.
The Assam Police registered a criminal case and the CID was handed over the investigation on Monday. He said that some teachers have also been arrested and termed the development as “unfortunate”.
The General Science exam, which was scheduled to be held on Monday, was canceled by the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) on Sunday night following reports of the question paper being leaked.
In a notification on Monday, SEBA said that March 30 was the revised date for the exam.
