Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Chief Minister of Assam, marked a significant milestone as he inaugurated India’s largest Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awas Yojana in the Naharkatia area of Dibrugarh. This inauguration forms a pivotal part of the ongoing Vikas Yatra, which aims to propel developmental efforts across the state.

Inauguration Highlights

Addressing the event, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma highlighted the transformative impact of the Vikas Yatra, which has ushered in over Rs. 1,600 crore worth of developmental endeavors across Assam. Notable among these efforts is the establishment of a new solar-powered housing colony under the PM Awas Yojana in Naharkatia. Additionally, Sarma inaugurated developmental projects worth Rs. 745 crore in Dibrugarh and unveiled 46 projects worth Rs. 807 crore in Lakhimpur as part of the Vikas Yatra.

Vikas Yatra Progress

The ongoing Vikas Yatra, under the leadership of CM Sarma, aims to accelerate progress across Assam by launching and inaugurating projects worth a cumulative Rs. 23,000 crore. This comprehensive initiative underscores the government’s commitment to holistic development and inclusive growth.

Regional Development Focus

Continuing his active participation in the Vikas Yatra, CM Sarma engaged with residents at a rally in Bajali, Lower Assam. Projects worth Rs. 154 crore for Bajali district were either inaugurated or had foundation stones laid, showcasing the government’s regional development focus.

Future Outlook

CM Sarma expressed confidence in the potential of the inaugurated and upcoming projects to fulfill the aspirations of residents across various districts, including Bajali. With an emphasis on infrastructure, healthcare, and housing, these initiatives aim to uplift communities and enhance their quality of life.
