The seizure was made under the aegis of Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) Ambassa PS.
Radhanagar Battalion and Ambassa PS conducted a joint operation on the basis of reliable information. The team detained a driver named Dulal Dey and co-driver Biplab Debnath, along with a vehicle, and confiscated 226 kg of ganga worth Rs 90 lakh.
The two and the recovered vehicle were handed over to Ambassa PS for additional investigation and judicial actions, along with the car and the marijuana that had been seized.
Smuggling of drugs always takes place in this area. Later, the drugs are supplied not only in the northeast but in other parts of the country as well.
The Assam rifles did a commendable job by catching such a big haul of Ganga. Drug traffickers must be nabbed everywhere to eradicate the use of drugs in the country.
