Voting is underway today in 13 assembly constituencies across seven states, including Bihar, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, and Himachal Pradesh. The polling process, which began at 7 am, will conclude at 6 pm. These by-elections come after some seats were vacated during the Lok Sabha elections, while others became vacant due to the death of sitting MLAs. The vote count will be held on July 13.

Key Constituencies and States
West Bengal: Raiganj, Ranaghat Dakshin, Bagda, and Maniktala
Uttarakhand: Badrinath and Manglaur
Punjab: Jalandhar West
Himachal Pradesh: Dehra, Hamirpur, and Nalagarh
Bihar: Rupauli
Tamil Nadu: Vikravandi
Madhya Pradesh: Amarwara
West Bengal: TMC vs. BJP

In West Bengal, the stakes are high for both the ruling TMC and the BJP. The TMC aims to capitalize on its improved performance in the Lok Sabha elections, while the BJP seeks to build on its significant leads in four constituencies from the parliamentary polls.

Maniktala: BJP’s candidate is All India Football Federation president Kalyan Chaubey, running against TMC’s Supti, the widow of former MLA Sadhan Pandey.
Ranaghat Dakshin: TMC’s Mukut Mani Adhikari faces BJP’s Manoj Kumar Biswas.
Bagda: TMC’s Madhuparna Thakur, daughter of MP Mamatabala Thakur, is up against BJP’s Binay Kumar Biswas.
Raiganj: BJP’s Binay Kumar Biswas contends with TMC’s Krishna Kalyani.
Himachal Pradesh: Key Contests

By-elections in Himachal Pradesh are being held in Dehra, Hamirpur, and Nalagarh, following the resignation of three independent legislators who joined the BJP.

Dehra: Congress’ Kamlesh Thakur, wife of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, faces BJP’s Hoshiyar Singh.
Hamirpur: BJP’s Ashish Sharma competes against Congress’ Puspender Verma.
Nalagarh: BJP’s K L Thakur is in a triangular contest with Congress’ Hardeep Singh Bawa and independent candidate Harpreet Saini.

Punjab: Critical Test for AAP
The Jalandhar West bypoll is a significant test for Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and his party, AAP. The seat fell vacant after Sheetal Angural resigned as an AAP legislator.

AAP’s candidate is Mohinder Bhagat, son of former minister Bhagat Chunni Lal.
Congress has fielded Surinder Kaur, a former senior deputy mayor and five-time municipal councillor.
BJP’s candidate is Angural, who switched from AAP in March.
