Kinnaur: Nine people were killed and three seriously injured in a massive landslide in Himachal Pradesh’s Kinnaur district. A vehicle of tourists coming from Chitkul to Sangla was hit by a landslide due to the falling of rocks near Gunsa of Batseri in Kinnaur district.
The incident happened after a stone fell on the vehicle. It is being told that the tourists in the car had come to visit Himachal from Delhi and Chandigarh. Police and administration teams reached the spot as soon as the information about the accident was received.
Congress MLA Jagat Singh Negi said that stones are falling continuously from the hill, due to which there is a problem in the rescue. He said that a helicopter has been sought from the government to lift the injured to the hospital, which has been assured to reach soon.
Kinnaur DC Abid Hussain Sadiq, SP SR Rana are also present on the spot. There is screaming at the spot. The people of Batseri are engaged in the rescue along with the police. Due to the landslide, the bridge built on the Baspa river for the village has been broken, due to which the village has been cut off from the world.
According to the information received, many vehicles have also been damaged due to landslides including rocks falling from the mountain.
