Australia: 26-year-old Indian man killed in Melbourne car crash; wife appeal for help to send remains back home

New Delhi: An Indian man in Australia killed this week after his car crashed and rolled many times, his wife has appealed for help to send his remains back to his parents in India, according to a report. The man identified as Khushdeep Singh, 26-year-old. He was driving along Palmers Road at around 11.15 pm on Monday when his vehicle crossed the median strip and rolled several times.

Despite the prompt arrival of emergency services, he tragically passed away at the scene. Victoria Police said in a statement released on December 4,“Westgate Highway Patrol are investigating a fatal crash in Williams Landing last night. It is believed a 26-year-old male driver was travelling along Palmers Road when he crossed the median strip and rolled the vehicle several times about 11.15pm.”

While the exact cause of the crash is still under investigation, police suspect fatigue may have been a contributing factor. Emergency services promptly responded, attempting to revive Singh, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene. His wife identified as Japneet Kour, an international student who arrived in Australia last year, has initiated a fundraising campaign to send her husband’s remains back to his parents in India.

The fatal crash has left Singh’s wife Japneet Kaur, who came to Australia last year as an international student, devastated. She shared that her husband worked as a truck driver in Melbourne and was known for his positive outlook on life. Kour is reaching out for donations, big or small, to support the cause and has urged people to share the fundraiser widely.

Kaur posted on GoFundMe page,”I don’t have enough funds available right now so please help me in this difficult time… Any donation, big or small will make a meaningful difference .” She expressed gratitude for the support and condolences received during this heartbreaking time in her appeal.

Investigations into the details of the crash are ongoing. So far she has received close to $48,000 in donations. Last year, five members of two Indian families in Australia, including two children, were killed when a luxury SUV collided into a packed outdoor dining area of a pub in Melbourne.
