New Delhi: In a bold and risky move, a 25-year-old auto-rickshaw driver in New Delhi attempted to evade a traffic jam by driving his three-wheeler on a crowded foot over bridge. The incident unfolded at the Hamdard Nagar Red Light Sangam Vihar Traffic Circle and gained widespread attention after a video of the daring stunt went viral on social media.
The auto-rickshaw driver, identified as Munna, found himself stuck in traffic on the road beneath the foot-over bridge. Determined to bypass the congestion, Munna executed a series of maneuvers. He initially made a sharp turn, directing the auto onto a footpath, and then skillfully guided it onto the stairs of the foot-over bridge.
Notably, the auto-rickshaw was unoccupied as Munna navigated it over the bridge. However, a second individual, later identified as Amit and also a resident of Sangam Vihar, joined Munna by jumping inside the vehicle once it was safely on the bridge.
The pedestrians on the foot over bridge were left astonished by this audacious act and quickly made way for the auto-rickshaw to pass.
Following the video’s viral circulation on social media, the Delhi police took action. They not only impounded the auto but also apprehended Munna, the 25-year-old driver, who hails from Sangam Vihar. Additionally, Amit, the person who assisted Munna and boarded the auto on the bridge, was also taken into custody.
This incident serves as a reminder of the potential consequences of reckless actions on the road and the importance of adhering to traffic regulations for the safety of all road users.
