Aviation security body seeks report amid mid-air fight between passengers on Bangkok-Kolkata flight

Kolkata: The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security is an organisation that monitors aviation security and has taken note of a video that went viral and showed passengers fighting on a flight from Bangkok to Kolkata. It has asked for a comprehensive report on the occurrence.

Zulfiquar Hasan, DG BCAS, stated, “We’ve taken note of the viral video, which shows a brawl between passengers on a Thai Airways aircraft to Kolkata. The organisation has sought a thorough report from the appropriate authorities.

On the basis of the report, additional action will be taken.

On a Tuesday trip from Bangkok to Kolkata, two Indian passengers got into a heated debate in the middle of the flight that quickly turned into a physical fight.

The video of the fight that took place in midair went viral on social media. Two passengers on a Thai Smile Airway flight started arguing with each other, which turned ugly, and the cabin crew members came to calm them down.

One of the men was saying “shanti se baith” (sit down calmly), while the other said, “hath neeche kar” (keep your hand down). However, after the heated arguments, both men started beating each other. It can be seen in the video that one man was slapping the other.

The man removed his spectacles, while his friend also joined in and beat the other man. He was just defending himself, and did not hit back.

Co-passengers and cabin crew tried their best to stop the fight before some flight attendants successfully separated them.
