Ayodhya chief priest: Rainwater dripping from roof of sanctum sanctorum at Ram temple amid heavy rain

Ayodhya: Water started dripping from the roof of the grand Ram temple being built in Ayodhya in the first rain. The chief priest of the temple, Acharya Satyendra Das, has expressed strong displeasure over this. Acharya Satyendra Das, chief priest of the Ram Janmabhoomi temple, confirmed that water was dripping rapidly from the roof of the temple in the sanctum sanctorum during the first rain on Saturday midnight.

In the morning, when the priests went there to worship the Lord, they saw that the floor was filled with water, which was removed from the temple premises after a lot of effort. No arrangement was made to remove water from the temple.

He told that in the temple, just in front of the idol of Ramlala, rain water started dripping rapidly from the roof at the priest’s seating area and the place where people come for VIP darshan. The temple officials had to put in a lot of effort to drain the rain water. Das told reporters, “It is very surprising that such engineers from all over the country are coming here and building the Ram temple. The temple was consecrated on January 22 last, but no one knew that if it rained, the roof would leak.

The chief priest said that it is surprising that the roof is leaking inside a world famous temple which is being built. Why did this happen? Such incidents are happening in the presence of such big engineers, which is very wrong. He alleged that there was negligence in the temple construction work. After top officials were informed about the incident of water dripping from the roof, temple construction committee chairman Nripendra Mishra reached the temple and gave instructions for repairing the roofs and “water proofing”.
