The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) today applauded the performance of the Mithali Raj led Indian women cricket team after they made it to the finals of ICC Womens World Cup 2017.
India defeated the inform Australian team in the semi-final yesterday with help of a mammoth innings played by all-rounder Harmanpreet Kaur.
BCCI Acting Secretary Amitabh Choudhary stated: “The BCCI would like to congratulate Mithali Raj and her team for showing consistency in their performances in the tournament so far.”
Harmanpreet Kaur took match away from the Australians and played a memorable knock of 171 not out off 115 balls to help the team win by 36 runs.
India is all set for the finals with hosts England who are in fine form after defeating South Africa in the other semi-final.
