Bengaluru: Amid growing concern over deepfakes and content that spreads obscenity or misinformation, a 22-year-old woman found around 13,000 naked photos of different women, including herself, on the phone of her partner at a Bengaluru-based BPO firm. The woman, named Tanvi, immediately ended her relationship with her 25-year-old colleague, Aditya Santosh, and reported the matter to her company superiors to protect her colleagues from possible harm.
Accused named as Aditya Santosh, who is an employee at the BPO company as a customer service agent for just five months, was detained following a complaint filed by the company’s legal head at the cyber crime police station. The company made it clear that he did not utilize any company devices to manipulate or alter the photographs. Meanwhile, the police have begun the probe and arrested Santosh from his office.
“We need some more time to find out the reason why he was keeping so many photos. A few of them are morphed and a few are real. We are also verifying if he had blackmailed any woman using them. His chat history and phone calls are also under verification,” an crime branch official probing the case stated.
