Bengaluru: A Kannada film side actor Santhosh lands in trouble after a 27-year-woman accuses him of cheating, blackmailing by promising her a role in the movie. The complainant has also made allegations of blackmail against the actor. An FIR has been registered at Jnanabharathi Police Station. The accused has acted in a few Kannada and Tamil films.
The woman, whose identity remains protected, works as a beautician, alleges that Santhosh had not only promised marriage but had also offered her roles in movies and came close to her under this pretext. According to the victim, she is said to have met actor Santhosh in 2019
In the police complaint, the victim claims that the accused promised to marry her and took her to various lodges in the city and had a physical relationship. The complainant also accused Santhosh of videotaping their intimate moments on his mobile phone.
After three years, the victim claims that she stayed away from Santhosh as she did not get any roles in the movies. Meanwhile, the victim claims that Santhosh secretly married another girl.
The victim alleges that on February 14, Santosh came to her house and fought with her and assaulted her. The victim claims that Santosh asked her to meet him whenever he wanted, otherwise he threatened to send her private videos to her family and friends.
After the distressing incident, the woman got treatment at a hospital and filed a police complaint at Jnanabharathi Police Station.
In the aftermath of these events, the woman took the courageous step of filing a complaint against Santhosh. A case has been registered under IPC sections 354 (criminal force on women), 323(voluntarily causing hurt), 420 (cheating) and 506 (criminal intimidation). The police are in the process of issuing a notice to the actor to appear before them for questioning.
