Bengaluru: A shameful incident has come to light in Bengaluru. Here a woman jumped off the moving bike when the Rapido driver allegedly tried to grab her and take her to another place. Police said the incident took place on April 21, when the woman booked a bike on the Rapido app at around 11 pm. During this, the driver snatched the woman’s phone saying that he wanted to check the OTP and then suddenly started going in the opposite direction. He did not return the woman’s phone when she asked for it.
The woman told the police that the bike driver tried to coerce her in a moving vehicle. He jumped from a speeding bike near Abrar BMS College in Yelahanka, Bangalore. When the guard of the college ran to help the woman, the bike rider fled from the spot.
The incident of woman jumping off the bike was captured in a CCTV. It can be seen in the video that a high speed bike is going, from which a woman suddenly jumps. After this the bike goes ahead and the woman stands up and starts running on the other side of the road. This video is going viral on social media.
The accused has been identified as 27-year-old Deepak Rao, a resident of Andhra Pradesh, has been arrested by the police and sent to judicial custody.
