Bengaluru: Dashcam captured yet another hit and run incident near Hulimavu in Bengaluru on Sunday evening. Four people were injured after a rashly-driven SUV crashes into three bikes moving at a slow speed near the speed breaker. The incident occurred around 4 pm on Sunday. The dash board camera footage from the other car shows the driver fleeing the spot after the accident.
Video of incident, seems to have been captured by a dashcam mounted on a vehicle that was behind the car, shows a couple of bikes and other vehicles moving in slow traffic when a speeding SUV rams into a two-wheeler, throwing the rider into the air.
The footage shows the car first hitting two motorcycles on the busy road.
Victim who were on the bike, identified as Jasmith and Basanth, suffered severe injuries from the accident. Another biker named Kiran was flung into the air and landed on another car’s bonnet after the bike was hit by the car. The Hulimavu Traffic Police have registered a case based on dashboard footage and an investigation is underway.
The car then and rams the third motorcyle a few metres ahead, injuring two men the video shows.
Officials said the injured were admitted to a hospital and are reported to be in stable condition.
The police have detained 43 year old Abhishek Agarwal who was driving the car at the time of the incident.
In the span of past few months, Bengaluru has witness an increase in the number of cases registered against traffic violators and dangerous driving with car dashboard cameras providing proof and users assisting police in probing the cases. In many cases in the past, dashboard camera footage played a major role in helping police to identify and take action against the accused.
