Bengaluru: Akhil Iyer, a Bengaluru-based actor, has objected to the use of his image for the Karnataka Congress’s “PayCM banners.” Akhil Iyer claimed that his photo was used without his permission.
The Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai’s image has been displayed throughout Bengaluru as the Congress intensified its attack against the BJP. The “40% Sarkara” posters are intended to draw attention to how the 40 percent commission rate has allegedly become the norm under the current BJP-ruled government in the state.
One of the posters featured Akhil Iyer’s photograph with lines like “Are you still numb?” and “The gluttony of 40% Sarkara has robbed nearly 54,000 youths of a career,”
Actor Akhil Iyer pointed out the “illegal” use of his photograph on Twitter, writing and saying, “I am appalled to see that my face is being used illegally and without my consent for “40% Sarkara,” a Congress campaign that I have nothing to do with. I will be taking legal action against this.”
