Bengaluru: Residents and guards of a Bengaluru apartment thrashed a food delivery agent and handed him over to the police. It was alleged that an 8-year-old girl was forcibly taken to the roof of the building by the food delivery agent. However, later CCTV camera footage revealed that the girl was lying.
The incident took place on Monday at an apartment in Bangalore’s Electronic City when a couple were searching for their missing girl child. After a long time, an 8-year-old girl was found on the terrace. On being found, the girl told her parents that a food delivery agent had taken her upstairs. The girl told that in order to escape from the food delivery agent, she bitten on his hand and saved her life.

The girl’s parents informed their neighbors and security guards, who locked the gate of the apartment. The girl pointed to a delivery agent who was on campus. The residents of the apartment and the guard beat him up and called the police.
Police said they rushed inside and checked the CCTV camera footage of their neighbour, which revealed that the girl had gone to the terrace alone and later lied to her parents and the police.
The parents told the police that they had gone to drop off another child from the school bus and did not find their daughter after returning. He said that he found the girl on the terrace after 30 minutes and the girl told him that it was the delivery agent who took her there. The girl later said she lied to her parents fearing scolding.
The police asked the delivery agent, who hails from Assam, if he wanted to file a counter complaint, but he said he understood the parents’ position. He also told the police that he was leaving Bengaluru soon and did not want to press charges.
