New Delhi: Political parties are clearing their position on the support of candidates in the Vice Presidential election. Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati on Wednesday said that her party will support NDA candidate Jagdeep Dhankhar. Mayawati herself gave this information by tweeting. Mayawati’s BSP supported the NDA candidate Draupadi Murmu in the presidential election as well.

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati tweeted and said, ‘It is well known that due to lack of consensus between the power and the opposition in the election for the highest Presidential post of the country, the election was held again for this. Now due to the same situation, the election for the post of Vice President is also going to be held on 6th August.’ In her next tweet, Mayawati said, “BSP has decided to extend its support to Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar in such a situation keeping in mind the wider public interest and his movement in the election for the post of Vice President and which I will be formally today. I am also announcing.

During the presidential election, Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati had announced support for NDA candidate Draupadi Murmu by holding a press conference. He had said that we have decided to support NDA’s presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu. We have taken this decision neither in support of BJP or NDA nor against the opposition but keeping in mind our party and movement. BSP has been taking decisions for the weak, poor and marginalized sections of the people.

Let us tell you that the voting for the post of Vice President is on 6th August. While the NDA has fielded Jagdeep Dhankhar as its candidate, Margaret Alva, the Vice Presidential candidate from the opposition, is in the fray. NDA candidate Dhankhar has so far got the support of parties like BJP, JDU, Apna Dal (Sonelal), BJD, AIADMK, YSR Congress, Lok Janshakti Party, while the opposition candidate Margaret Alva has the support of Congress, SP and Left parties.
