Patna: RJD’s Bahubali MLA Anant Singh has got a setback from the court. While pronouncing the verdict in the AK-47 case recovered from the house, the court has convicted Singh. The court will give its verdict on the points of punishment on June 21. Let us inform that on August 16, 2019, AK 47 rifles, hand grenades, cartridges etc. were recovered from the house of Anant Singh.
On 16 August 2019, under the leadership of the then ASP of the flood, Lipi Singh, the police raided the residence of MLA Anant Singh at Ladma. An AK-47, hand grenade, magazine and cartridges were recovered from there. In this case, a hearing was held against two people including Anant Singh. The police had produced 13 witnesses in the court to prove their allegation. On behalf of the defense, the statements of 34 witnesses have been made.
Let us inform that even before this case, in 2015, a case of INSAS rifle magazine and foreign bulletproof jacket was also registered from Anant Singh’s official residence in Patna. Both the cases were to be heard today. Before the hearing till now, it was already believed that Anant Singh could be found guilty of possessing illegal arms. The same thing happened after the hearing because the police has presented concrete evidence before the court.
Anant Singh has been lodged in Patna’s Beur Jail for a long time. Hearing took place in the special court today. For this he was brought from Beur Jail to the Civil Court. Special Court Judge Triloki Dubey has given his decision after hearing the arguments of both the parties. Now the sentence on the point of punishment is to be heard on June 21.
