Patna: It seems that all is not going well between the BJP and its alliance with JD (U) in Bihar, as Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is not likely to attend a meeting of the NITI Aayog to be chaired by the Prime Minister on Monday in Delhi. If this happens, then it would be the second meeting that has been skipped by Nitish, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Nitish Kumar recently recovered from COVID-19, so he wished to send his deputy but was informed that the event was exclusive to Chief Ministers.

The official stated that the Chief Minister would resume his Janata Durbar on Monday. This event had been postponed for the previous few weeks due to his health and other commitments.

According to sources, Mr Kumar has never been a fan of the NITI Aayog, which ranks Bihar last in terms of state development.

Prior to this, the Chief Minister skipped both the dinner hosted by PM Modi for outgoing President Ram Nath Kovind as well as the inauguration of President Droupadi Murmu.

With recent arguments over the Agnipath programme, the caste census, and Mr Kumar’s relationship with the BJP speaker of the Bihar Assembly, Vijay Kumar Sinha, not up to the mark, the two factions are not on one platform in Bihar.
