Bihar: An official said that a photographer was allegedly shot dead by hosts of a birthday bash in Darbhanga district of Bihar after his camera battery was drained. The victim was identified as Sushil Sahni.
They added that the victim was murdered at the party of the daughter of the accused, identified as Rakesh Sahni, who was reportedly dissatisfied with the service of the cameraman and upset that his camera had low battery.
According to the information, the incident happened in the Makhnah village of the Bahedi police station area of Darbhanga district. Police said that the victim had returned to his home to charge the battery of his camera.
When Sushil Sahni went missing, Rakesh Sahni contacted him and allegedly asked him to come back to the party after charging the battery. According to sources, illegal firing was also done in the party as part of the celebration.
But by then a scuffle started between the two and amidst the argument, both of them got into a scuffle at the spot itself. Then, in anger, Rakesh Sahni along with his family members put a pistol in Sushil’s mouth and shot him.
Further, the accused took the victim to the gate of Darbhanga DMCH hospital and fled from there. The entire family of the accused is absconding. According to the village head, Rakesh Sahni is involved in the illegal liquor business.
After getting the information about this incident, police reached the spot where two empty cartridges were recovered. Darbhanga SSP Jagunath Reddy said that the body has been sent for postmortem and handed over to the family. He added that a detailed investigation is underway.
