Bihar govt reduced school holidays from 23 to 11 days between Sept and Dec

New Delhi: Bihar government has cut the holidays of government schools from September to December. There were 23 holidays from September to December, which have now been reduced to 11. On the instructions of KK Pathak, Additional Chief Secretary of the Education Department (Bihar Education Department), a new date of holidays has been issued in schools from elementary to higher secondary.

New Delhi: Bihar government has cut the holidays of government schools from September to December. There were 23 holidays from September to December, which have now been reduced to 11. On the instructions of KK Pathak, Additional Chief Secretary of the Education Department (Bihar Education Department), a new date of holidays has been issued in schools from elementary to higher secondary.

On the changes made in the holidays, the education department says that under the Right to Education act 2009, at least 200 days in primary schools (classes 1-5), at least 200 days in middle schools (classes 6-8) It is necessary to have 220 working days. There will be no holiday for Raksha bandhan in schools.

Earlier, August 31 was declared a holiday in government schools. There used to be a six-day holiday in schools during Durga Puja, which has now been reduced to three days by adding Sundays. According to the earlier announcement, there was a holiday from 13 November to 21 November from Diwali to Chhath Puja.

Now, according to the new calendar of the Education Department, there will be a holiday on Diwali on November 12, Chitragupta Puja on November 15 and Chhath Puja on November 19 and 20. According to the latest order of the Education Department, the holiday on Chehallum on September 6, Mohammad Saheb’s birthday and Anant Chaturdashi on September 28, Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary on October 2 and Christmas Day on December 25 has been unaffected.
