Patna: The death toll from spurious liquor has increased to 30 in Chhapra, Bihar. Initially the death toll was 6 on 14 December, then by late evening the death toll had increased to 24. Till this morning the death toll has gone up to 30. The case is related to Isuapur police station area of ​​Chhapra Saran.

The deaths were reported from Saran district on Wednesday, triggering a slugfest in the Bihar Assembly where the ruling ‘Mahagathbandhan’ led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Opposition BJP traded charges over the tragedy.

Some people consumed liquor till late on Tuesday at a local joint, and fell ill after returning home, the police said on Wednesday. The incident occurred at the Mashrak and Isuapur police station areas of Saran, as per Sunil Kumar, the state’s minister for prohibition.

Still many people are admitted in the hospital. It is being told that some people are getting treatment by theft at the local level. Tell me, there is liquor ban in Bihar. Buying and selling of alcohol is illegal here. Vijender Rai, Harendra Ram, Ramji Sah, Amit Ranjan, Sanjay Singh, Kunal Singh, Ajay Giri, Mukesh Sharma, Bharat Ram, Jaidev Singh, Manoj Ram, Mangal Rai, Nasir Hussain, Ramesh Ram, Chandrama Ram were among those who died after consuming spurious liquor. , Vicky Mahto and Govind Rai.

Liquor supplier Ramji Sah is also among the dead. Apart from this, Noor Hasan Ansari and two others were referred to Patna, they died on the way. A young man named Amit died during treatment at Chhapra Sadar Hospital. After getting information about Amit Ranjan’s death, the district police force reached Chhapra Sadar Hospital. After this, the police took his dead body in their custody.

During this, the Chief Minister of the state Nitish Kumar got excited and started reminding the BJP members that you too had supported it and had taken oath to make it successful. In fact, Leader of the Opposition Vijay Kumar Sinha questioned the liquor ban of the state government in view of the deaths due to spurious liquor in Chhapra and during this Nitish Kumar lost his temper.

Pointing to the BJP MLAs, Nitish Kumar said whether all of you were in favor of prohibition? Liquor has become like God in me…which is not visible, but is present everywhere…BJP opposed this behavior of Nitish Kumar. Union Minister Giriraj Singh said that due to Nitish Kumar, alcohol is causing death every day.
