Bihar Land-for-job scam raid: CBI seizes over 200 sale deeds, recovers document during searches at different places

The CBI on Wednesday raided 25 different places from Bihar to Delhi in the land-for-job case and recovered more than 200 land papers.

New Delhi: CBI has conducted raids linked for job scam at different places in Bihar yesterday. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has taken up the alleged land for job scam in Gurugram regarding the land for a plot during Lalu Prasad’s tenure as the Union Railway Minister. Raids were conducted on Wednesday at 25 places, including an under construction mall. The officers provided this information. It is believed that a company owned by Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav is building this mall.

According to information received from CBI sources, more than 200 land papers have been recovered in connection with job scam land at 25 different places in CBI raids from Bihar to Delhi-Gurugram on Wednesday.

In Bihar, the CBI conducted a long raid of more than 11 hours at the residence of RJD leader Sunil Singh in Patna. The raids which continued since morning ended late in the night. Apart from Sunil Singh, the CBI also raided the residence of former RJD MLC Subodh Roy in Patna and the residences of Ashfaq Karim and Fayaz Ahmed have also been raided by the investigating agency.

Officials said that raids are being conducted in other places including Delhi, Gurugram, Patna, Madhubani and Katihar. He said that the ‘Urban Cubes’ mall under construction in Gurugram’s Sector 71 is being built by Whiteland Company, in which Yadav’s family has a stake.

It has been alleged that several Patna residents sold and gifted their land in the Bihar capital Patna to the family members of Lalu Yadav and a private company controlled by the RJD supremo and his family.

Meanwhile, Tejashwi Yadav denied that he or his family has any stake in the mall at Gurugram which was raided by CBI in connection with a land for jobs scam.

The Yadav scion also alleged that the real estate company which was developing the mall enjoyed the patronage of Haryana Chief Minister and BJP leader Manohar Lal Khattar.

“The Urban Cubes mall belongs to White Land Corporation Ltd and a BJP MP has an investment in it. Krishna Kumar is the present owner of this mall. Moreover, Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar inaugurated that mall. Now, CBI is answerable to it. It should clarify the owner of the mall,” he tweeted.
