Begusarai: In yet another incident, a veterinary doctor was allegedly kidnapped and forcefully married in Bihar Begusarai. On Monday, he had left the house to treat an animal. On the way he was kidnapped and married in the temple. He hasn’t returned home yet. Family members have filed a police complaint
After this the boys have lodged a complaint in the police station. Police is conducting raids for the recovery of Dr Satyam. The matter is of Pidhauli village of Teghra police station area.
In fact, on Tuesday morning, a video came on the mobile of Subodh Kumar Jha, a resident of Pidhauli village. The video was of his son Satyam’s wedding. In this a girl was sitting with Satyam. The pandit was reciting the mantra. There was a crowd of people around. Wedding rituals were being performed. After watching the video, the senses of the family members were blown away.
The boy’s family members have alleged that on Monday afternoon, Satyam Kumar had left the house to treat the cattle. Did not return home till late evening. The family has alleged that Vijay Singh of Hasanpur village kidnapped Satyam and got him married.
This morning the girl’s people sent the video to Satyam’s mother’s mobile. Now at Teghra police station, the family has filed a complaint about the kidnapping of their son and getting them married. At present, the police are conducting raids for the recovery of Satyam. The whole matter will be clear only after Satyam’s recovery.
Begusarai SP, Yogendra Kumar, said, “In Bihar’s Begusarai, the tradition of Pakadua Vivah started in the 1970s but later on, incidents of forced marriages were curbed. We have received information from the family of a veterinary doctor that he was abducted and forcefully married. The man’s father has filed a police complaint and we are investigating the matter from all angles.”
Incidents of forced marriages, commonly known as Pakadua Vivah, are rampant in several areas of Bihar. Often, eligible bachelors are kidnapped and forced to marry women whose families cannot afford dowries.
