Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Awadhesh Dixit said on Sunday that the incident took place in Pokhria Pir Mohalla under Kazi Mohammadpur police station and the liquor supplier is absconding, but his wife and daughter have been detained.
He futher said that We received information that Umesh Shah and Pappu Ram of Pokhria Pir Mohalla had died. Their family members said they returned home drunk three days ago, took ill and their condition continued to worsen despite medical treatment.
ASP Dixit added that two other people, Dharmendra and Raju, were also tipped off. Dharmendra told the police that he had bought liquor from Shivchandra Paswan. Police said that Shivchandra is still absconding and his wife and daughter are being detained and questioned.
Let us tell you that in 2016, the Nitish Kumar government imposed a complete ban on the sale of liquor in Bihar. However, this kind of news undermines the claims of the Bihar government.
