New Delhi: In a shocking incident that has sparked outrage across Delhi, a biryani vendor in Jahangirpuri finds himself at the center of controversy. Allegations have come to light that the seller was selling biryani in a paper plate with a picture of Lord Ram. The incident, captured on video, has gone viral, drawing widespread condemnation and demands for action.

In the video, the vendor was found selling biryani with paper plates with Ami Ganatra’s book ‘Ramayana Unraveled’ printed on the cover. This act has been considered by many to be offensive and derogatory, evoking a strong reaction from the public and deeply hurting religious sensitivities.

The Jahangirpuri police swiftly intervened, leading to the arrest of the accused. As investigations unfold, the police are exploring various angles to the case. Among them is the question of whether the vendor’s actions were driven by a desire for marketing attention or a deliberate attempt to provoke religious sentiments.

“Jahangirpuri is located in Delhi inundated by Muslims. In the Year 2022 during Hanuman Jayanti riots erupted when a Hindu procession was attacked by peaceful. Today is Hanuman Jayanti such an act as uncanny resembles 2022 and looks like a deliberate attempt to incite Hindus. Imagine the outrage if Hindus did such things during Muslim festivals. Stern action needs to be taken against miscreants creating such communal tensions,” noted on irked user on X.

According to reports citing the police, one or two plates from the bundle of paper plates had photos of Lord Ram. Currently, the Jahangirpuri police station is investigating the entire incident.

Delhiites are fond of food and the city is famous across the country for its culinary delights. There are many such shops in Old Delhi also where the taste of food fascinates people. Biryani is also an item that is liked by many people. However, after such an incident of hurting religious sentiments for selling food came to light, there was anger among the people.
