New Delhi: The BJP lashed out strongly at Rahul Gandhi today over his remark that Chinese soldiers are beating up Indian Army personnel in Arunachal Pradesh and demanded that the Congress should dismiss him immediately from the party.
Rahul Gandhi should be expelled for his remarks, which “belittle” India and break the morale of its armed forces, according to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia. If Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge is not “remote-controlled,” and if the opposition party stands with the nation, Rahul Gandhi should also be expelled.
Rahul Gandhi asserted that China is preparing for war during a press conference in Jaipur on Friday during his “Bharat Jodo Yatra,” accusing the government of trying to “ignore” the threat because it is “asleep” and not prepared to accept the situation.
In a reference to a recent brawl between the Indian and Chinese soldiers in Arunachal Pradesh, he said Indian jawans in the region are being “beaten up.”
Mr Bhatia said that if the Congress fails to take action against Gandhi, its former president and the key driving force of the party, then his statement would be the voice of the opposition party’s mindset.
The Congress should not be considered a political party but a shelter for anti-India activists, the BJP leader said.
