BJP MP Accuses Mahua Moitra of Witness Tampering in ‘Cash-for-Query’ Scandal

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Nishikant Dubey has raised concerns about attempts to influence a witness in the ongoing ‘Cash-for-Query’ controversy involving TMC MP Mahua Moitra. Dubey alleged that Mahua Moitra and Darshan Hiranandani are in contact, attempting to influence the witness. He made these claims in a recent post, urging the Lok Sabha speaker to take action.

Drawing parallels between Mahua Moitra and former Congress MP Raja Ram Pal, who faced expulsion in 2005 over corruption allegations, Dubey highlighted the alleged financial connections between Moitra and influential individuals. He referred to a letter from Raja Ram Pal to the Prime Minister’s Office, accusing Moitra of dishonesty and linking her to affluent associates.

Meanwhile, Mahua Moitra has requested additional time to appear before the Lok Sabha Ethics Committee, which summoned her on October 31 regarding the ‘Cash-for-Query’ accusations. Moitra emphasized the importance of cross-examining Darshan Hiranandani, the central figure in the alleged scandal, and urged him to present a verified list of alleged gifts and favors provided to her.

Previously, Nishikant Dubey, backed by evidence shared by Advocate Jai Anant Dehadrai, accused Mahua Moitra of involvement in the ‘cash-for-query’ scandal and submitted his claims to the Lok Sabha Speaker. In response, Moitra welcomed an investigation by the Speaker after addressing alleged breaches of privilege by other BJP MPs.
