The ongoing Monsoon Session has seen several uproars in both Houses of Parliament. The skyrocketing price of essential commodities and other issues were raised by the opposition parties. This led to several adjournments in both houses.
Meanwhile, due to demand from the opposition, the Upper House is set to discuss the price rise today. The government will also move ‘The Family Courts (Amendment) Bill, 2022’ for passing and consideration.
Several opposition parties, including Congress, raised questions about the role of the Enforcement Directorate and disrupted the proceedings over the arrest of Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut.
The suspension of four Congress MPs was withdrawn on Monday on the condition that they would not bring placards into the House.
Four Lok Sabha MPs, including Manickam Tagore, Ramya Haridas, Jothimani, and TN Prathapan, had got the suspension order on July 25 for showing placards and disrupting proceedings in spite of Speaker Om Birla’s warning.
Speaker Om Birla on Monday requested all parties not to bring placards to the Parliament.
